Doctor has NOT prescribed your brand even after repeated calls:
What could be the reason?
● The doctor may not be prescribing that drug & prefers some other generic drug for his patients.
● Doctor is NOT convinced with your communication (your communication has not
been registered /accepted by the Doctor)
● Competitors have influenced the Doctor more than your efforts. What to do?
● Through proper RCPA, re-check if the product selected is the right choice in terms
of generic drug for that Doctor.
● Involve the Doctor in a discussion/conversation about the clinical benefits of our
brand in that medical condition.
● Remember: USPs need to be discussed as a conversation, not just a detailed
● Try different methods e.g., Demonstration of product characteristics (Pack /
Taste / Technology / Feel / Flavour of our brand) based on Company strategy.
● Importantly, discuss & request for the same product in every visit and do not change.
● Make sure that the product is available physically in the chemist nearby
● After involving the Doctor in conversation, take his commitment & assure him
about the physical availability of our brand.
● Politely request the Doctor & take his permission for reminders either physically
through LBLs / PS or through WhatsApp / SMS (only if the Doctor gives permission)
● Give reminder calls in the next two to three days as far as possible depending on
your work cycle from nearby areas
● Let the Doctor know that you value his prescription support & you are willing to
go out of the way for his prescription & not just call him “in routine”
● Importantly, discuss & request for the same product in every visit and do not change
That way you can get the Doctor to prescribe your brand.
